Information Collection And Use


We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide the best service possible, and to improve our platform so we can provide the best experience.

SlantedPress is committed to providing a free and open platform for all. This means that we do not charge our members for expressing themselves and sharing their ideas. Instead, we rely on advertisements. We know how intrusive and inappropriate ads can be, so we work hard to ensure that ads are as appropriate and subtle as possible.

Some of our ad providers may collect behavioural data in order to cater to provide relevant ads that are not disturbing.


In order to give you the best possible experience whilst using our platform, we collect information about your interactions with our articles and members. Some of this information, is provided to us by you when you perform actions such as subscribing to our mailing lists, and creating an account. For example, your first and last name (which we use during communication with you), your email address (which is used as a security measure to mitigate the risks of your account getting compromised, and to communicate with you), as well as username (which we use to track your account, articles, and comments).


Other information we collect, are based on your interactions with the platform, such as what kind of articles you read most, how active you are in the community (e.g. Commenting, flagging, and publishing new articles). In addition to these, we may also collect behavioural data when we are testing new features. These include things like; how long you spend on an article, how many times you visit the same article, how often you use our product features such as the 'comment' box and the 'appreciation' button.


In an attempt to keep our platform secure and protected from attacks, we also monitor access to the platform and any requests made. We do this by logging data such as your Internet Protocol address, the date and time you accessed the service, information about your device (such as device or browser type), and referral information. This information only stays on our system for 3 hours before being deleted, as it is only required as reference to detect repetitive resource request attacks.



Information Disclosure


We do not sell any of the data that we collect. Ever. We won’t even sell information about you.


We may share your account information with external parties in some circumstances, including:

  2. Under your explicit wishes

  3. To a service provider or partner who meets our data protection standards

However we use third-party vendors and hosting partners, such as Krystal, GitHub, and NucleonBytes, for hardware, software, networking, data storage, software administration, security, and related technology we needed to run our platform as smoothly as possible. We log interactions of both members and visitors, in order to maintain our security standards. By using our platform services, you authorize SlantedPress to transfer, store, and use your information for the purposes specified above, in the UK (United Kingdom), where our platform is run.



Tracking & Cookies Data


We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.


Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. We also use beacons to collect and track interactions, to improve and analyze our Service.

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.
